According to the CBC, the government of the province of Ontario, Canada, is partnering with Starlink to provide high-speed internet access for 15,000 customers, both businesses and rural in rural, by June of 2025.
Called the ONSAT (Ontario Satellite Internet) program, this move is part of a nearly $4 billion investment by the provincial government’s to bring enable access to high speed internet to all communities in Ontario.
At a news conference in Sudbury, Ontario, Ontario Minister of Infrastructure, Kinga Surma, said the province signed a nearly $100 million contract with Starlink, which is owned and operated by SpaceX.
