NTC to Provide Internet in Lalitpur Metro City Ward Offices

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has reached an agreement with Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) to provide FTTH internet services in the local government’s various ward offices. The agreement papers were signed by Reena Dongol, Director at NTC Provincial Directorate, Bagmati Province, and Rekha Das Shrestha, Chief Administrative Officer at Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

NT will now provide Connectivity Service in Lalitpur Metropolitan City via its FTTH Optical Fiber Network and offer its service as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA). Likewise, LMC will bear the expenses for necessary equipment, installation, operation, and repair and maintenance. However, it won’t have to pay for the FTTH CPE device.

With the agreement, NTC will now provide NT’s high-speed fiber internet in 58 places within the local government. According to the agreement, the state-backed telecom giant will establish FTTH fiber internet in 29 ward offices, 21 ward health centers, 8 divisions, departments, centers, projects, etc. which totals 58 different places.

NTC’s cooperation with LMC is another extension of its contribution to government bodies to establish reliable connectivity. Recently, it signed an agreement to provide internet services in high and district courts too. The company likewise, has cooperated with the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for a mid-hill fiber project. In essence, the company continues to expand its services and cooperation that go beyond commercial value.

The cooperation between Nepal Telecom and Lalitpur Metropolitan City is a part of the Government-to-Government (G2G) concept. It entails NTC providing an optical fiber network to various government bodies via the company’s FTTH network. Besides, the company will be responsible for providing necessary technical assistance in need.
