Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence partners with Elm for Al in public sector

The Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Elm, a leading IT consulting and technology firm, to enhance AI capabilities within government institutions across Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed during the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit in Riyadh, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This partnership aims to leverage AI technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government services and operations. Established in 2021 and owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), SCAI was created to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in AI. The company focuses on developing AI applications in sectors such as smart cities, healthcare, public transport, and sustainability.

Collaborating with Elm, SCAI will work on developing AI use cases for the public sector, creating prototypes, and deploying AI-driven applications. Elm, known for its strategic consulting expertise, will provide advisory services to SCAI and support the AI offices of public sector institutions within SCAI’s network.

The partnership will cover a wide range of AI technologies, including machine learning, generative AI, and large language models (LLMs). Some of the projects planned include ChatGPT-like applications, voice and speech recognition solutions, generative AI for visual object detection and identification, and predictive data analytics.

This collaboration is one of four agreements Elm signed at the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, with other partnerships including SITE (a cybersecurity company), Fountech Labs (an innovation lab for deep tech), and Incorta (a provider of open data technology). These alliances reflect Elm’s commitment to expanding digital transformation and innovation services in support of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.
