Bosnia's BH Telecom to invest in 4G network upgrade

osnia and Herzegovina’s state-controlled BH Telecom [SAJ:BHTS] plans to invest approximately 14 million marka ($8 million/7.2 million euro) to enhance its customer services, with a particular focus on upgrading its 4G network, local media reported.

The investment in the first phase will enable higher speeds, better coverage and a more stable 4G network, news provider Ekapija reported last week.

The company has signed a contract for the upgrade of its 4G mobile network. However, it has not disclosed specific details regarding the contract, according to the report.

An email sent by SeeNews seeking details of the investment plan and the contract went unanswered by the time this article was published.

BH Telecom's shares last traded on the Sarajevo bourse on September 27, when they closed 0.68% higher at 13.78 marka.

BH Telecom is 90%-owned by the government of Bosnia's Federation.

BH Telecom is based in the capital Sarajevo and has customers mainly in the Federation entity, which makes up Bosnia together with the Serb Republic entity.
