Vodafone Egypt partners with Al-Safy Group and Green Packet to manufacture high-speed routers

Vodafone Egypt has announced a partnership with Al-Safy Group and international company Green Packet to manufacture high-speed home routers (CPE) in Egypt, marking a significant step towards supporting local manufacturing and advancing the telecommunications industry.

The tripartite agreement was signed by Karim Kamel, Head of Fixed Internet Services and Urban Communities at Vodafone Egypt, Safy Wahba, Founder and Chairman of Al-Safy Group, and Frodo Rao, Chairman of Green Packet.

Kamel emphasized that the agreement will boost local manufacturing and help localize technology in Egypt, contributing to innovation, sustainable growth, and a strong digital future. “We are committed to supporting the national economy and enhancing the telecommunications industry for the benefit of Egyptian citizens,” he said.

Rao expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that it will transfer the necessary technological know-how to begin local manufacturing in Egypt, with the aim of reaching regional markets with cutting-edge technologies.

Wahba highlighted that Al-Safy will leverage its expertise to promote the project as part of a broader initiative to strengthen Egypt’s telecommunications sector.

Earlier in September, Vodafone Egypt announced a collaboration with Huawei to develop a software algorithm to detect and reduce interference in coastal and desert areas.
