Morocco launches initiative to train youth in digital professions

The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in Morocco has unveiled a new initiative to train young people in digital professions, targeting socio-economic growth in rural regions. The program was formally launched in Ouzoud with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Ghita Mezzour, Minister of Digital Transition, and Bahija Simo, President of the Voice of the Mountain Foundation for Heritage and Sustainable Development.

Also present at the event were Mehdi Kettani, Director General – Representative of the Deposit and Management Fund, and Chafik Lwaryagly, Director General of Maroc Numeric Cluster. This initiative is a part of the “JobinTech” program, which aims to train 15,000 young Moroccans by 2026 in digital specialties like software development and data analysis.

Managed by Maroc Numeric Cluster, the program offers free, intensive courses of 3 to 6 months, reflecting Morocco’s strategic push to modernize its workforce and engage with the global digital economy. Minister Mezzour emphasized the program’s significance for empowering youth in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, a rural area with great potential for digital innovation.
