Ooredoo has successfully tested 5.5G technology in Oman, achieving high network speeds and setting a new standard for connectivity in the region. The company announced that the new technology reached a single-user peak rate of over 4.6 Gbps during the test, marking the fastest network speed ever recorded in Oman. Ooredoo’s successful 5.5G tests, conducted in collaboration with Huawei over the last few months, mark a pivotal moment in positioning the company at the forefront of telecommunications innovation and paving the way for a hyper-connected Oman, the official release said.
The company also thanked the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) for facilitating the tests in the country.
