German broadcasters Sky Deutschland and RTL Deutschland are expanding their partnership: In addition to Sky Q, streaming service RTL+ is now also available as an app on the new Sky Stream service.
Sky Stream customers can also receive all RTL free-TV channels in HD quality, accompanied by interactive functions such as instant restart and time-shifting. Most RTL content is also available to Sky subscribers on demand for up to seven days after the initial broadcast at no additional cost.
“We are very happy with our strategic partnership with Sky Deutschland and are looking forward to the long-term expansion for the launch of the new, innovative Sky Stream service. Having been very prominently integrated into Sky Q with our products for years, Sky Stream customers can now also fully enjoy RTL+ and RTL Catch Up TV in HD quality,” said Stephan Schmitter, CEO of RTL Deutschland. “This is the next logical step in further expanding our reach in this special partnership alongside our content offering.”
Barny Mills, CEO of Sky Deutschland, added: “Strong partnerships are essential today to provide viewers with a rich, high-quality entertainment experience. We are therefore delighted to extend our successful partnership with RTL Deutschland and expand it to Sky Stream just in time for the product launch.”
