Boost mobile introduces nationwide 5G network

Boost Mobile has introduced a nationwide 5G network that focuses on simplicity in consumer choices. The company also has updated its branding.

Boost Mobile — which is now the unified brand of Boost Mobile and Boost Infinite — said that it is the only nationwide carrier with prepaid and postpaid mobile services under one name. It also said, in an announcement made Wednesday, that it supports more towers than any other carrier and has a footprint covering 99% of the U.S.

“Boost Mobile is providing a compelling new choice in wireless,” said Sean Lee, Boost Mobile’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Product and Marketing. “We offer transparent, straightforward plans starting at $25 a month on a single line and an extended portfolio of devices for all consumer needs. We’ve simplified the online experience into one brand and location at BoostMobile.com.”

Four options are available for Boost Mobile 5G:

Unlimited: $25 per month with autopay “forever” (i.e., price locked), unlimited talk, text and data, 30 GB of premium data.

Unlimited+: $50 per month per line, unlimited talk, text and data, global talk and text, 40 GB of premium data.

Unlimited Premium $60 per month, unlimited talk, text and data, global talk and text, North America Connect, 50 GB of premium data.

Infinite Access: $60 per month, unlimited talk, text and data, global talk and text, North America Connect, 30 GB of premium data, annual device upgrade.

In addition to the unified name, Boost Mobile is rebranding. One step is to replace its “ramps” logo with an infinity symbol design. The rebranding is being supported by four ad spots directed by Jonathan Krisel, the writer and director of Portlandia.

Boost Mobile, which is owned by Dish Network, took a significant step in February when it expanded its Voice Over New Radio (VoNR) for its prepaid offering. VoNR runs over a standalone 5G core and shares no infrastructure with earlier wireless technology, which enables it to offer faster call set-up times.
