Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the expansion of its advanced L900 technology across 3000 sites in Kolkata to boost 4G indoor coverage and data speeds. This move follows Vi's successful Rs 18,000 crore Follow-on Public Offering, aimed at upgrading its network infrastructure.
L900, an advanced technology for stronger network performance, aims to provide superior calling and faster data speeds indoors. This initiative aligns with Vi's broader strategy to enhance network infrastructure in Kolkata and beyond.
Additionally, Vi has acquired extra spectrum in the recent spectrum auction, investing Rs 31 crore for 0.4MHz in the 900 MHz band in the Kolkata Circle and Rs 376 crore for 7.6 MHz in the West Bengal Circle, expanding its total spectrum portfolio significantly. Naveen Singhvi, Cluster Business Head for West Bengal, Assam & North East, emphasized the company's commitment to providing the best network experience to its customers.
This technological deployment is being extended to other cities, aiming to strengthen the network and expand Vi's customer base.
