Arcom approves change of control in Altice Media

French communications regulator Arcom has given its approval to CMA CGM.

In March, Altice reacheda $1.68 billion agreement to sell Altice Media to CMA CGM which is backed by the French-Lebanese shipping tycoon Rodolphe Saadé.

Arcom’s interest as in BFM TV, RMC Découverte, RMC Story, which hold a DTT licence, as well as local TV services also broadcast over DTT and several radio services.

Arcom sought a number of commitments around the plurality of the channels and independence of editorial staff.

Licences for BFM Lyon Métropole and BFM Alsace were revoked at the request of Altice France and adopted new agreements for their continuation outside of DTT.
