Commercial operations of BSCL-TRP services has been Inaugurated

Television Rating Point (TRP) service of Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) has been launched commercially. State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Arafat inaugurated the program along with State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak at BSCL’s head office at Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hasan Mahmud.was connected online in the inauguration ceremony.

BSCL Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud presided over the event while Secretary of Post and Telecommunication Division Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Samsul Arefin; Ekattar Media Limited Managing Director Mozammel Babu and BSCCL officials of different ranks were present on the occasion.

At that time, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting said that a very good work has been started by inaugurating the commercial activities of Television Rating Point (TRP) service of Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL). A government organization has developed this technology in a joint venture with a university. This is a matter of pride. There is scope to take the technology to a more advanced level. This technology innovation has proven that the government can collaborate with the private sector, especially universities, to create technology products that can be commercially exploited. This is a huge achievement for us.

For this program, the state minister for information and broadcasting thanked the former information minister and current foreign minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. The State Minister for Information said Md. Arafat told, without your initiative and cooperation, especially without the cooperation of Bangabandhu Satellite, this technology innovation would not have been possible.
