GITEX 2006 BRINGS TOP TELECOM COMPANIES TO SAMENA


DUBAI, UAE — November 30, 2006 — SAMENA Telecommunications Council’s has reported great success in its recent participation at GITEX 2006.

"We’ve had an incredible interaction with top players from all over the world. The interest and the willingness of some companies to join in our cause for the collaborative expansion of telecommunications in the SAMENA region is very encouraging," stated Mr. Thomas Wilson, SAMENA’s managing executive director.

The event has offered an opportunity to both regional and global telecom entities to learn about SAMENA, what it aims to achieve in the SAMENA region, and the ways in which it can help operators in getting their interests and visions represented.

"SAMENA’s presence at GITEX is reflective of our commitment to bringing forth an unprecedented wave of collaboration to the region. We have the team, we have the resources, and we have an expanding Membership that believes in what we do and is determined to making a difference and creating better opportunities for all of us."

A myriad of companies interacted with SAMENA’s Executive Team and expressed interest in joining the Council. Names of Committed Memberships included Saudi Telecom Company, du, Huawei, NOVIACom, SkyStream, Centile, Al-Sabah, among others.

SAMENA’s current Members, including the PTA, NTC, Teralight, Omantel, and several others also participated in the event and interacted with top industry decision makers both from within and outside of the UAE.
