STC

Waleed Khalid Al-Fudhaili, 41, is currently the General Manager of Network Planning and Performance, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) since 2007. At this position, Waleed has been responsible for the merger of STC fixed network and Aljawal mobile network. He led the NGN strategy development and implementation in addition to the STC broadband strategy. He has been playing significant key roles across STC business and functional units in several innovative business opportunities, and managing network CAPEX/OPEX. In addition, Waleed has been a Council Member of the ITC Broadband Initiatives sponsored by SAGIA. The objective of these initiatives is to boost the broadband penetration in Saudi Arabia. Prior to his position as GM, Waleed was the Director of Data Network Engineering in Fixed Network, STC (2005-2007) where he was leading the deployment of broadband data network at STC. Waleed joined STC in 2001 as an NGN system control manager and has held a series of increasingly responsible positions in research and development (R&D), and he was promoted to the position of Director of Future Mobile Technologies (R&D). Waleed has spoken at many industry forums on the development of NGN, global broadband full-service wireless and wire line networks. He has addressed the impact of DWDM, SONET/SDH and ATM/IP technology on telecommunications, service providers and end customers. Waleed is an accomplished executive with more than 16 years experience in the field of telecoms. His impressive career details commendable delivery of large and complex projects ranging from business development to implementations and organization restructuring activities. Waleed holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from King Saud University (1994), Saudi Arabia. He also holds an MBA from Oxford (2007).
