Imad is an entrepreneur who established several companies in the Internet and data communications field in Jordan and the region. He is currently the CEO of Middle East Internet Co. (Cyberia) the leading broadband Internet Service Provider with operations in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan. Cyberia is serving the corporate, SME and consumer markets with fixed and wireless broadband and data communication services and solutions. Cyberia is also an equity owner in Abdali Communications Company which is building the fiber and “triple play” infrastructure for Abdali the new downtown of Amman. Cyberia was acquired in 2007 by Oger Telecom the leading regional telecom operator with over 40 million customers under management. Imad co-founded and managed Global One Jordan in 1996 which introduced the Internet to Jordan, and become the number one Internet and Data communication service provider in Jordan. Global One was acquired by Jordan Telecom and is now Orange Internet. Imad also co-founded NETS in 1994 which introduced email and on-line services to Jordan. NETS was acquired by Batelco Jordan, and is now Umnia Internet. Imad started his work career in 1984 in the Silicon Valley where he worked at world leading high tech companies National Semiconductors and American Microsystems Inc. He does a lot of voluntary work contributing to the society; he is a member of the Board of Trustees at the King Hussein Foundation, and he is the Chairman of Tamweelcom, Jordan’s leading microfinance non-profit company. In 2009 Tamweelcom was ranked as number one regionally and number eight worldwide among 650 microfinance companies. Imad graduated in 1984 from Santa Clara University, California, where he received his BSEE degree, and he received the MSEE degree from Santa Clara University in 1986.
